Go with Clint's fav... a .44 AutoMag.
If you're less manly than he, go with the .375 version ![]() ![]()

There have been some 38 Stupid's converted to wad guns that shoot 38 Special wad loads. Superlight springs, so they run with 148 wadcutters with 2.7/3.0 of Bullseye. I horsetraded into a 1970's vintage Clark 38 Special 1911 wad gun like this. I stupidly traded it for something later. Might not have been too stupid, think it was a pre-64 M70 I traded for. Not sure..... maybe I need to try short stroking it. It seems when I open the action all the way, as in to load a .357 shell, the shorter .38 gets cattywampus and pops up in the air.

Hmm.. I'm not able to right now, but if I remember I'll take a look at it. Maybe video the cycling and send it to you if you're interested.. It's the only gun that gets a silicon sock.. The rest I don't mind the occasional scratches, but it's just too much fun and kind of cowboy cool, and with .38s is quiet like a .22 and it's light...
I want to take a deer with it and .357s.. As you can tell I'm fond of it. ![]() |

Far be it from me to mention, but perhaps commentary about "short stroking it" should be avoided, lest someone more coarse make disparaging remarks about the stroker. S/F....Ken M

Not quite sure.. It's an older one, pre-safety on the bolt, dark wood. 20" barrel. The loading gate is stiff, trigger is decent. Completely stock. It'll be a while before I can get you more info.
I have been shooting the Winchester 130gn flat nose fmj.. |

Except for capacity, why the hate?
The little .38 has fit a pocket for many people, for many years. Great trading material, take a pile to the range, somebody will bite.

Bullet profile would probably have a lot to do with feeding reliability as well
