My main man and retired Marine IED Detection dog had passed away when I woke up this morning. Sparks (P481) has done more for this country than half the people I know and will be extremely missed. Semper Fi brother.

Rest In Peace loyal companion and warrior. Many dogs, true heroes in Iraq and Afghan. Sorry for your loss, and thank you well for your duty and service leading him into harms way.

RIP Sparks. Other than my Mother's death, I probably teared up more over my own 16 y/o mutts death last year.

As an avid dog lover I'm very sorry for your loss. If there's one thing I can say I hate, is my 4-legged friend passing away and I mourn 3 of them as of now (1 German Shepherd, 1 Cocker Spaniel and 1 Amstaff). All the best to all dog lovers here and everywhere, I know how you feel.

Damn, just had to put Lab down a few weeks ago. Sucks. Dogs really deserve a longer life span.

Sorry for your loss.

Thanks guys, it means a lot. I wouldn't trade anything for the time we were able to share with him; even with how heartbroken I am right now.

Sparks barks in Heaven now so at least he is safe and sound up there. When talking with other dog owners about our departed dogs I and they usually come to a conclusion that even though the new dogs take some place in our hearts, the departed ones are there and will be there. You simply cannot forget a good friend. He stays in your heart.

God damn I can't think about losing another one. That's why I'm so reluctant at getting a new dog. I don't know if I could live with another friend gone. Or maybe I should accept it and have fun with my 4-legged pal while I and he(she?) still can. It's not that I will live forever anyway.
