Look at his Hawza class photo and rank order him against his classmates in terms of a fealty to Tehran and it may make more sense.

If you don’t have the photo handy, I believe Qais Khazali was in the photo, along with a few others who were rivals to MAS back in about 03-09.

The Iranians have too much invested in the country we gave them to let a coalition of misfits run by MAS start minimizing their influence. I'm okay with sitting back with some popcorn for a bit...see how this shakes out, and who is still above room temperature when the noise dies down.
