Replacement for Windows Media Player
So, apparently Microsoft no longer supports Windows Media Player (WMP)...
My wife has been trying to transfer music from CDs to her desktop, then to her MP3 player, as she has always done - but the WMP no longer lists the tracks, artist, song name, etc. This is apparently a known issue now that Microsoft no longer supports WMP. So, the work around is to manually enter each track, which is a PITA... What software is available as a free down load so she can go back to a simple process of put in the CD, copy to hard drive, then move to MP3 player? Where do I get it for her, how do I work it, links, advise...

I submit VLC media player. Interface is old-school, but compatibility is good.

Try this
How to Transfer Music from a Computer to an MP3 Player https://techspirited.com/how-to-tran...-to-mp3-player Steps to Transfer Music from a Computer to an MP3 Player. First and foremost, you need to physically connect your MP3 player to your computer using a data cable. In most cases, you do get the data cable along with the MP3 player itself. Match the end-slots of the data cable with the computer and MP3 player sockets, and connect them appropriately https://techspirited.com/how-to-tran...-to-mp3-player |
