GPS TomTom 50 Not Connecting

Anyone have problems updating their TomTom GPS? It worked a few months ago, but now the MyDrive Connect does 'see' my device. I have a TomTom GO 50.

Tried the troubleshooting guide, and no joy on that track. Also reset the device as a last resort, and that failed as well.

I am a Garmin guy, not Tom Tom, but POI Factory has been helpful to me.

We broke ours out (mine) a few months ago when I was heading up to Bismarck for a few months.

I wanted to make sure everything was updated and I also wanted to purchase any new additions.

We had the same problem. I could not get the computer to read/acknowledge my unit.

Over a couple of days I did a lot of research and it seems this is a common problem. I never could get it figured out even after contacting tech support.

I even tried a different computer.

I was crunched for time so when I was in Richmond, VA getting the car inspected I also got a trip tick and a couple of maps off the wall.

I am determined to get it fixed.

Even though it is a little old/outdated to some people I like mine and it pairs great with a road atlas.

ALL of our long-range desert vehicle movements were done with sextants, sun compasses, and lensatic compasses. Synchronized our watches to WWV @ 5MHz.

Still wish I had the military sextant we were issued.

Don't forget your ranger beads! Losing your pace-count would suck
