Anything made and entered into the NFRTR prior to May 19, 1986. As I pointed out, it's not IMPOSSIBLE if you have money.

There are hundreds of thousands of transferable machine guns in the registry.

As for your personal situation, you were screwed. There is no hassle in owning them and in your case I am almost positive you would have qualified for a tax free transfer on a Form 5 and someone should have known that.

I thought that amendment snuck in and added to FOPA in 1986 shut down any new manufacture or importing of fully auto except those transferred to the US govt. And besides the cost being sky high if you want to make your own you have to jump through ATF hoops & have a class 3 license etc.

When my biological father died he had some pre 1986 full autos we would have inherited. I looked into me getting them and because of the fuss with ATF (I have always had a CCW permit as an adult) we ended up letting the lawyer (executor) sell everything then splitting it among us. And I REALLY wanted those guns (was the only one who did). But because of the $$$ for each weapon in regards to taxes and ATF hoops etc I decided otherwise. Looking back there's no way I'd do that now but I was young and not that experienced then. Today those weapons would be sitting in my gun room.

Am I remembering wrong about FOPA and needing a class 3 FFL to make my own automatic?

And this is legal ownership I'm talking about.

The above was the point of my previous point in the other post.

Some of the talking heads and "experts" aren't completely letting go of the potential terrorism/plot angle. One guy (who's name I don't remember) could not get past the fact the GF is out of the country right now.

This video has an odd sound to the rate of fire. One of those stocks?

Yeah, they are pointing to the GF being out of the country, ISIS claiming him as one of their own and LE being a bit secretive over what they found at his other home in Reno.

One last thing: he engaged security and the police before he fired himself. They never do that. As soon as the cops get there they usually off themselves.

It’s probably just me reading into it, but there are anomalies.

As far as the warrants go, they are probably inventorying and photographing. They likely won’t release anything officially until the returns are completed. They have 7 days to complete the returns. I always wait until the last minute unless it’s under seal for some reason, which im sure these will be.

He engaged police? Everything I've seen said he was dead when they entered.

No offense, but maybe that's to protect the integrity of the investigation rather than put out inaccurate information too soon? "Hypothetically" of course.

Both. I worded that poorly. He engaged, and when they finally blew their way in he was dead by suicide. What I heard on the news was a cop and a security guard were wounded.

Apparently he fired through the door, hitting hotel security that was escorting cops. After that he killed himself as they breached and made entry into his room.

Just saw a picture of the two broken window panes from a slightly different angle. One is facing full onto the venue, while the other is about 45 degrees off the other way, basically allowing him to strafe one of the egress routes.
Might be the reason for choosing a room higher up. Steeper angle to be able to shoot at victims on his side of the street and to gain time before LE
can make it up there.

The more I see the more I think that evil POS put a lot of thought into it.
I hope he rots in hell.

Didn't Terry Nichols supposedly learn how to make the 1995 OKC bomb from Abu Sayyaf?

I agree. I was just repeating what those playing the terrorist angle are saying.

My guess is they are looking at his e-mails, website views and whether or not he visits any message boards. If that's the case, it will take some time.

Ah, gotcha. I must not have picked up on that, mea culpa. After a long day full of idiocy related to this incident I guess my brain is baked. I've seen massive misinformation regarding various goings on (not here) and it's stupefying.

Me too. And the stupid shit isn't limited to message boards. Some of the media types are as bad as the blathering fools on the internet.

And like used in OKC, they recovered pounds of ammonium nitrate from this guy's car.

Scotch, Beer and wine to all the Doctors, Nurses and hospital staff employees who are no doubt weary, frazzled and beat up trying to save as many lives as possible.
