Never understood the attraction of these groups.

I always thought motorcycle riding was about freedom and independence.

Kinda defeats that purpose when joining?

I enjoy riding alone, but once in a while it is nice to get together with a few folks and ride together. I especially think that during the Christmas season when the toy drives are on, it would be fun.

Our VFW has it's own MC. All of the members are seriously straight guys, no bullshit, no nonsense. They do a lot of charity stuff, working for Equine Therapy groups and so on. If I was going to belong to a MC, I think that would be about the only one I would be a member of.

I will say that the CV guys I have met were gtg in that environment. I don't know a whole lot about them, but I do know enough to say that we don't have Sons Of Anarchy to thank/blame. They've been around for a long time.

Not to beat a dead horse but the VFW guys are a Riding Club. Not an MC. And yes those guys support a lot of good causes. My old club sponsors a special needs baseball team and we fund raise money for MUST ministries Homeless Veterans.

Yep. Grown ass men. I spent 10 years of my life riding with a 3 piece MC. Don't get me wrong. There were some great guys, some of whom I'm still friends with today, but everytime.....EVERYTIME we went out somewhere, somebody did something that ended up in a situation.

I moved back to Georgia last February and two of those guys found out I was back in town and they showed up at the house wanting to know if I was going to come back.

Havent heard back from anyone since I told them I appreciated the thought but I couldn't......
