There are some people who make you a better man just by knowing them: Master Chief Boesch was one.

Everyone has a "Rudy Story".
I wont tell mine here, but I will say, when I lost some of friends over an incident (my fault), Rudy stood by me.

He was a great man and a good friend.

I was just thinking that when I read of his passing. Pre UDT member of Amphib Scouts & Raiders, Pre SEAL member of UDT, COB of ST-2 and the first SEA of USSOCOM. Fucking legend. RIP Master Chief!

If I remember the story I read correctly, he was also put in to be the first MCPON, too. RIP Master Chief.

RIP Master Chief.

The first time I ever heard of you was the first SEAL book I read in Sept 2001 after 9/11. I read several other books on SEAL's and you were mentioned in all of them. In fact, I read many books on US Special Forces, PJ's, Delta and on SOCOM - you were mentioned in all of them.

Master Chief Boesch knew my uncle EOCS Hubert "Sam" Bass in Little Creek. I met him in passing in the early 80s as a wee lad of 13 or so, didn't realize the magnitude of who he was. RIP Master Chief.
