Has anyone use PTSD glasses?

I have looked at all the websites and wanted to get some opinions of SOCNET members on the PTSD glasses. I cannot find any information on the VA website so I therefore presumed they do not support them . What issues I'm looking at are the utility of them in places they are marketed to, for example a crowded shopping mall. Another is safety and whether or not any senior members here have had issues with them considering the peripheral vision is practically nil. I have someone I frequently assist with medical issues and he has been driving me crazy about them. I want to find out if these things would be beneficial for him because he does have problems in crowded places. I'm concerned because peripheral vision is so limited and they are completely blacked out around the vision field. I just don't think these would be right for him.

I was once a big-time PTSD patient.

This product, to me, looks like snake oil. Nothing more.

Junk science wrapped up in a faintly decent looking package, targeting vets for their funds.

About as good, to my thinking, as copper dots on a band around your elbow or knee.

I totally agree with you B 2/75. I just want to get some ammunition to take to him because he's one of those guys who believes anything he reads on the internet. I'm so happy that there is nothing mentioned about it on the VA website.

Kind of sounds like the peril-sensitive sunglasses from hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
