I was working the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hartford this year when Bloomenthal and our worthless Mayor walked by in the parade. My post was at the intersection of the first major turn and I had a group of older vets (40's to 50's) standing near my post. Bloomenthal spots me and came over to shake hands (in front of the crowd of course) as he does during every parade. He was in the middle of saying "Thank you for your service" when one vet about two rows behind me yells "Get the fuck away from us asshole!" It took everything I had not to laugh in Bloomenthal's face.

Politics aside, the very fabric of our nation is slowly tearing apart, not just from the ever present fringed edges but from the very center of our framework like an old burlap sack, ripping apart from years of weight, rot and decay.
IMHO We are at the precipice of a dramatic change coming to the core common goals of our nation in the near future. Dissolvent rights and freedoms never end up being a good thing for anyone regardless of political leanings, as the fire that is out of control will burn everyone in its path equally. |

The exact carnage the founders of the country were trying to protect against is unfolding. "They" are pushing for a nation of surfs and peasants and it's working.

Connecticut is a lost cause according to some of the connected political people I’ve spoken with. There’s an election coming up and a (R) businessman (Bob Stefanowski) is attempting to take the governorship reigns…I hope he gets it but from what I hear, it won’t matter.
A once rich, prosperous and fiscally sound state (no income tax until the 80’s) is now bankrupt and there is no possible way to get out of the crushing debt caused by unfunded liabilities (pensions, etc). Like the rest of the country, most of the counties in CT are conservative and vote (R)…..it’s the big cities (Hatford, Bridgeport, Stamford, etc) that sway the vote. Case in point is our illustrious governer Danell (not Dan or Daniel but Dannell) Malloy once mayor of Stamford leading this popular vote plan (his son was busted for drugs and armed robbery some years back btw). https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/...stedAgain.html They (our fearless leaders) have driven thriving corporations and manufacturers out (GE, Colt, etc) and replaced them with ‘get rich quick’ casino’s (run by the Tribes) and a stupid multimillion dollar baseball stadium for a minor league team in Hartford called the ‘Yard Goats’ ![]() Taxes (in every conceivable form) are driving people out, and they are holding state aid back from the wealthier towns in order to fund the poorer municipalities that can’t seem to wipe their ass without ‘help’. And no matter how much money you pump into a Hartford (once the insurance capital of America), the schools still suck and the murder rate is high. My business is here, I can’t pick up and leave….yet.

Basically in any Maine election there is a choice between an Rep, a Dem, and few "third parties" that are democrats with a twist. i.e. the Green Party which is Dem tree-huggers. So the Dems want Ranked Choice because they figure it'll guarantee some flavor of Dem being elected. Of course, the first time it doesn't work for them they'll be whining about that too.

The Democrats and associated liberals who are pushing this plan. The whole reason the electoral college works the way it does is to keep the cities from overpowering the rural areas, or population centers from having too much say over the vast area of the rest of the country.

"They" is transnational, rootless globalists with no connection or stake in the country's success or failure. With no skin in the game, they're free of accountability and so it's all just looting and pillaging to them.
JSOC/etc shouldn't be doing ultimately meaningless Sisyphean crap off in buttfuckistan. They should be gathering up nation wreckers like Soros to stand accountable for their fuckery. You know, if we had a real country, with "leaders" who actually advocated for their citizens. Nope, we're in clownworld, where these tools are loyal to illegal aliens. S/F....Ken M

It sounds like they are just asking for the inner city voters in LA, Chicago, NY, Boston, Seattle, and Baltimore to make their electoral choices for them...
...and why not - nobody wants to be responsible anymore

This discussion reminds me of debates I've had with my in-laws who are Colombian. They were criticizing our electoral college system and calling it undemocratic. Colombian presidents are elected by popular vote.
I laughed at the irony, and then pointed out to them that their country has been mired in a civil war for the past 54-years. This situation existed because their leaders have all been elected by politicians who serve the interests of the elites in Bogota and Medellin. That the peasants in the countryside have no voice or means to effect policies and that leads to armed revolution, which will never be addressed until the political process is reformed. I explained to them that the forefathers in the USA intuitively understood this dilemma and as a result they designed a democratic republic, electoral college, and separation of powers with 3 co-equal branches. The double irony here is that the same socialist minded activist are the first to make the point that minority political representation (not necessarily racially based) must be empowered in countries in Latin America, yet they argue for a pure democracy in the States. The hypocrisy and illogical reasoning is profound.

All the unfunded mandates this states spews out yearly are killers. My wife works in a school district outside Hartford, and her budget for special needs students has been slashed for the past few years, but the benefits (EBT, WIC, etc..) and never slashed. I read a few years back that CT is 3rd in the country for the amount of benefits, to the tune of about $47,000/yr average given to someone receiving the full monty of benefits. Granted, I fully believe that there should be a vehicle in place to assist people in need, but in CT, it's out of control. We deal with people/families everyday in Hartford that brag about being on the dole for generations, due to "disabilities". One woman we frequently deal with has never been married, has SEVEN children, and brags about getting $800 month just for each child. Then she gets a housing voucher for $1200 a month. That's $81,600 a year in benefits!

My wife and I got to CT a few months ago after selling our house in CO. We have been refitting our sailboat and plan to sail out of this cesspool as soon as is practicable.
I don't think I have ever been around a larger bunch of chicken-shit ninny's in my life. They are scared of everything and want big-brother to solve every problem imaginable. It really is embarrassing that they call themselves Americans. A tin of Cope costs $9.50. There are taxes on taxes, hidden in taxes, and they are still broke... When the Electoral College goes away, unconstitutionally, that may be my breaking point. FFS, I can't wait to sail out of this dump. |

Tell me about it! I found a place in West Hartford that sells a tin for $6.75, and a bodego in Hartford for $7.50.
