Opiates and K-9ís. PSA

Take care of your partner. I would think Naloxone would be fine for doggies also.

Winter is here again oh Lord,
Haven't been home in a year or more
I hope she holds on a little longer
Sent a letter on a long summer day
Made of silver, not of clay
I've been runnin' down this dusty road

I've been trying to make it home
Got to make it before too long
I can't take this very much longer
I'm stranded in the sleet and rain
Don't think I'm ever gonna make it home again.

I read this earlier today and I'm still confused on how these dogs are overdosing. How does sniffing a bag make them overdose? Is there something left out of the article that perhaps some dogs, for some reason, actually eat the contents?

I think the admin. route inhalation and absorption in the mouth. Dogs are having fun doing their thing and breathing hard.

I see this happening quite easily.

Junkies often aren't the best packagers when they're stashing their dope. Break open a baggie or something and there you have it. S/F....Ken M

I've seen many dogs actually grab a suspect bag of dope and shake it, unlike EDD's which will sit and look at the handler. Are these the ones getting overdosed?

I don't know. The only dog I've worked with recently was on a weed deal. We've had issues with opiates and meth labs contaminating vehicles, where you should not enter the vehicle to impound it, just drag it on and off the truck, etc. S/F....Ken M
