$2000? I take it that the assumption is that the medics' organizations will be footing the bill.

firstshirt,

Most of the students attending this course are military SOF and DoS contractor medics with a need for their NRP recert with a full-blown TCCC MP, AHA, and NCCP courses built within. Since a majority of them arrive without having a good number of actual patient contacts, their patient assessment skills and treatment choices are rusty. That said, the course is a mixture of classroom, skills labs and hyper-realistic field scenarios. The amount of SME instructors, equipment, facilities, consumables and other 'stuff' needed to conduct this training is mind-blowing. At $2000, our price is considerably less than our competitors for a similar SOF-centric training program. We do realize it's expensive for the 'average Joe' to attend. If you have the qualifications & training and want to attend (while paying out of pocket), pm me and we can talk about helping you out with keeping costs down to a minimum.

No worries - I actually teach paramedicine in an accredited program and wilderness/expedition medicine for a well-regarded provider, so I don't need the training. And I understand the costs involved in providing high quality training. $2,000 just struck me as a bit high is all.

The SOF MED includes:
1) A full 60 hour NCCP NRP refresher and all required components
2) AHA BLS Refresher
3) AHA ACLS Refresher
4) AHA PALS Refresher
5) NAEMT TCCC for Medical Providers Cert.

Since we spend a LOT of time in the lab setting and in detailed field scenarios. We used to do a full PHTLS course inside the SOFMED, but we received a lot of complaints about spending too much classroom time so they were removed. (Authorized PHTLS and AMLS courses require you go though ALL slides which takes an inordinate amount of time). If a customer needs their PHTLS, they can show up with the online NAEMT/PHTLS Part 1 completed and we can finish the hands-on portion for them.
