BTW that's "Heisenberg"; as in Nobel prize winning physicist Werner Heisenberg who authored the theory of indeterminacy in quantum mechanics. It is a very clever alias!

Holy crap I had totally forgotten about that aspect of Walter's past!

I wonder if there will be an exploration of Walter's conscience? Until current he has not come face to face with the true damage his business creates? Sure Hank got paralyzed, but that's was "business" related. He has seen Jessee's crash house, didn't seem to phase him, but those are junkies and they choose their path.

Jessee is the one who has truly seen and experienced the cost to the innocent and the entangled.

Walter has become emboldened in his interaction with Gus. I wonder what measures Gus would take to maintain control. Everyman that loves has a lever that can be pulled.

My guess is Gus will coordinate events to make Jesse feel emboldened and empowered. As Jesse starts thinking he is growing set, he'll become adversarial in his relationship with Walt. Walt will have five fronts to try to control. Gus is playing Jesse against Walt to divert Walt's attention.

Remember earlier in the series, Walt watched/let the girl Jesse loved die over dose.

Brilliant writers and the way they take the plot.

Oh man, great episode! Walter is looking pretty sloppy these days(new cars and Honduran janitors?!?!)-maybe Skyler is on to something in that he subconsciously wants to be caught?

Love Walter's AS IS comment to the former car wash owner, then buys a soda w/ dude's first $1 bill

I think Mike may have a man-crush on Jesse now.

I don't see how a connection cannot be made to Gus' chicken joint after 2 dead gunmen presumably are found(someone had to find them, right?) in the truck after the hijack.

I wish this was a 2 hour show, every weekend I say to myself, "It's over already?"

I decided to go back and revisit the first two seasons. It's really interesting to watch Walt's evolution as a drug dealer, while trying to maintain a semblance of a normal family life.

And they just announced that the series will be back for a 5th and final season, finishing up with 16 episodes. I can see where this is heading, but the creators may have a few tricks up their sleeves. I like that they're concluding the series at season 5, like they did with The Wire. They know the end is near, and that gives them the opportunity to wrap things up a little and either tie some loose ends together or maybe even unravel a few.

Wow x 1000, and that's no overstatement. Hank's and Jesse's performance was off the charts for episode 7. No spoilers here.

On a similar note for next week's show, which is preceded by "No Country for Old Men," who wins in a one-on-one battle, Anton Chigurh or Mike?

Great show, one of my all time favs. This season has been outstanding and keeps getting better. My question is, with all of the symbolism in the show, what is the meaning of Hank's wife always wearing purple? Even the kitchen and all of her accessories seem to be purple. I am sure it's obvious but I'm missing it.

Also good to see Hank getting back to being his old self as he cracks me up.

Traditionally, purple has always been associated with royalty. Maybe there's some hidden meaning, such as she rules the roost. Who knows, maybe she's Gus's boss.

Or maybe she just likes the color purple.

...holy shit, no wonder they are going to have a fifth season. Love to discuss Gus, but if you saw the episode you're probably working the timeline out and I don't want to give anything away.

Gus, Pinochet, Chile, Mike and his network, well, this is coming together nicely. Glad this is only fiction.

Gus has someone on the inside of the DEA, otherwise Mike would not have known that the meeting at the APD ended with only Hank being suspicious. My guess is the SAIC with the mustache, who could have tipped off Gus in the first place. Either that or Mike does - maybe Mike has a history with the Government and Gus dating back to those Chile days?

How did Don Eladio know Gus or about him? In the flashback he says "you're alive only because I know who you are, but remember you're not in Chile anymore!"

So now we know the other half of "Los Pollos Hermano's." Max. And Gus is keeping Hector alive for several reasons, one of which is to exact control and revenge for the death of Max.

Lots of stories all coming together. Pretty intense show last Sunday.

If Jesse and Walt are both making $7.5M per year, how much is Gus making? $150M? How is he laundering all that money?

That was an awesome scene because it explained how Gus got to be the way he is now, and his history with the cartel. Amazing make up to make Hector and Gus look so much younger than they are now! So many plot lines coming together...
