Cleveland VA Director Sue Fuehrer Retires

I am so incredibly proud to have known Sue as a close personal friend for almost 15 years.

She came up in the VA system and has been working there for 30+ years.

She retired Friday.

Don't let her "niceness" in the video fool you....she is a kick-ass-take-no-names leader that is a VERY demanding boss.

She and her husband have parked their boat next to ours since 2011. I see her every weekend in the summer months.

She is a tireless advocate for veterans. Truly a one-of-a-kind lady whose heart is in the right place.

The VA is losing one of its most respected leaders today.

Here is her farewell video.

You've spoken highly of her before and she is a standard other VA leaders should strive to match.

Best wishes for her.

She must have the patience of a monk if she made it 30 years in that system. Thank her from us.

If she is looking for work, tell her that South Florida would welcome her with open arms.

I wish her well.

Based on your words, Cleveland veterans have been fortunate to have such a person heading the VA there. I appreciate what she has done for vets. Good luck to her in whatever she does next.

That jives with her last name. I hope her replacement can fill her shoes.
