In honor of the 4 chicks of the apocalypse, today's word is "Squad".

These are the dudes you go into the bush and do ambush and recon patrols with. Usually they are considered "Brothers from other mothers."

These are also the dudes you hit the local village with and go from bar to bar, trying to make it through the gauntlet. (One hard drink in every bar in town...)

Sometimes, these are also the dudes you trust to carry your drunk ass back on base, and get you safely to your bunk... Sometimes, this trust is misplaced, and you end up being "woke" by mamma san and her broom when she finds you naked and passed out wrapped around her kimchi pot on her back deck resulting in your needing of a "safe space" to escape from her assault. (...or would that be an attack?)

If gun control laws controlled crime, we wouldn't need cops.

The same guys who will fight with you at a bar, or fight against you in the barracks in an argument over attack vs assault.

Language is important. Good thing they cleared that up before you had to call for any indirect..

Today's word... "Manhole cover".

These are the plywood circles that cover the concrete below ground shooting positions at places like Benning and Bragg, to keep the rattlesnakes out. Sometimes, I guess they worked. Sometimes, not so much. Always check the hole before jumping in. Which is also good advice for going to the ville.

I don't think your supposed to use words with man in them:)

And

A writing guide at Purdue University advises students to avoid words with “man” in them — such as “mailman” and “mankind” — in order to write “in a non-sexist, non-biased way.”

Shouldn't that be "soldier hole cover"?
