60 teens loot Philadelphia Walgreens

60 teen aged personnel recently walked in and looted a Walgreens in Philadelphia. Don't think an armed security guard could have stopped that. Are we experiencing a new phenomena here?

They don’t fear anything. Krasner ain’t trying to prosecute them. Lotta special rules for juvenile arrests and custody.

But at the same time they wonder (and politicians exploit) why their neighborhoods don't have nice stores - geez I don't know, cause and fuckin effect?

And when nice stores try to move in, it's gentrification.

I'm very familiar with this part of the city. It's not a bad neighborhood - at least it wasn't when I lived in the area. Looks like a bunch of stupid kids doing a stupid prank on a holiday. I am not condoning the actions in any way. But I would say this is a "one off" type of event vs. an indicator that shit's gonna get bad. I could be completely wrong, of course.

It’s not like it used to be at all. This is a common occurrence on Thursday through Saturday nights. Had a shooting just a few weeks ago. No cop wants South Street detail. It’s less the bar crowd and more the juveniles coming in swarms with nowhere to go and the adult gang members converging in the area.

I saw this and it reminded me of the Storm Area-51 "event" I've been seeing on Facebook. Some group trying to get a ton of people to storm the gates under the premise that they can't stop everyone.

I agree. Getting fed up with this. Has happened at two stores in my area also. A JC Penny and an Ace Hardware. Group of people just coming in and grabbing merchandise and walking out with no one stopping them. Shotgun. Lethal. Theft is not a victimless crime.

As long as there is not severe punishment, right on the scene, lawlessness will get worse.

As I often state, from Umbeck’s studies, property rights are only protected with either violence or the threat of violence. Remove both and people become animalistic and do what ever they want.

I know someone that worked at an more upscale sports brand store on Fillmore St in SF. It happened twice within three weeks. Group of people entering the store and grabbing as much merchandise as they could stuff in trash bags they brought, vehicle waiting for them outside.
Store employees and the security guard present in the store are instructed by corporate to not intervene in any way, shape or form. They took merchandise worth worth tenths of thousands each time they hit that location.
At least some of them were arrested couple of weeks later, this was not the only location they pulled it off - it was almost daily at different stores across the city.

Shotguns would work wonders.

I'd go with roof Koreans with shotguns.

That area has changed a lot, between the "wilding" incidents of years past, and uncontrollable groups of teens South St. on the weekends is a shithole.

When is that supposed to happen?

Ever notice these savages don't loot bookstores?
