The real kick in the nuts is that Jose is following a similar track as Irma, just a few days behind. The current 5 day for Jose puts it just off the coast of Puerto Rico. That could seriously impact the availability of assistance and rescue into PR, if a 2nd hurricane is lurking off shore, preventing flights from reaching PR. That would make a miserable mess even worse.

I've spent some time in PR, and their roads are fucking horrible, drainage and well maintained sewers--not. Their electrical grid and cell towers, pretty shabby--but, due to this, almost every damn house has a generator and huge water storage tanks...I can only imagine what these monster's are gonna do.

The gouging has begun, saw a guy trying to sell a small, used generator for 900 bucks. A young lady almost hit me as she cut in front of me at the gas station. Gas prices are changing every few hours.

Looters beware, with an armory like this, rat bastards don't stand a chance.

Yes, that is a 40+ year old BB gun, I'll em in the eye.

My armory is similar, including the salt gun. I might need to add a Red Ryder and smaller pistol... :D

Da y um is right. Some those islands have a decent amount of people on them, and hopefully they are herding them like cattle post haste to get them to the mainland.

Jesus, they're predicting 15-20' storm surge in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos...on top of the wind and rain.

Damn, that's the kind of website that'd give Tom Skilling a woody.

People in Chicago will know what I'm talking about.

I rode out a hurricane in PR. It just was lots of wind and rain. The power was out for a week. The liquor store on base was cleaned out. The PX was bare. I sure wish I had gone with the aircraft to EVAC.

He was down in Carbondale for the eclipse, it brought him to tears. No telling what effect Irma will have on him. I have to say though, nobody has a better idea of what the weather is about than Skilling.

Guy breaths it, just like he's been doing since he was a teenager growing up in Aurora. Seriously, he started giving weather reports over the air on a radio station when he was 14 years old, almost 50 years ago.

Yup, I've seen that Skilling guy on TV.

I pulled this up and didn't watch, but listened to make sure I remembered him. Yeah, I do.

Well, isn't this special. While all eyes are on Irma here's Jose, forecast to recurve on day 5. Kind of sucks since once the former passes, we'll get breathless reports of the latter causing who knows how much fatigue and 'PTSD' among frazzled Floridians.

So who is utterly convinced of the accuracy of the forecast models at this point?
