Medal of Honor Recipient Hiroshi “Hershey” Miyamura

The Congressional Medal of Honor Society announced the passing of Hiroshi “Hershey” Miyamura, the second-to-last Medal recipient of the Korean War. He'd served in the 442d RCT in World War 2, then joined the Army Reserve after the war. He was recalled to active duty for the Korean War. Captured after the action that led to his award, the Medal news was classified Top Secret until he was repatriated to protect him from extra abuse.

Sit tibi terra levis, sir.
