Exclamation Flightline Support Services (FLS) Cargo Processor, SECRET, $4600/m, AFG

Location: Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan

Not the best pay but can help a young SOF Logi put food on the table

Salary: $4600/ month ($55,000) stateside equivalent of $72,000 due to 330 day IRS tax exclusion.

Working Conditions

Working conditions in Afghanistan are arduous and include heat
and dust, frequently involving much physical exertion and exposure
to the elements and aircraft related hazards. Operations will be of a
24 hour nature and may include routine air travel.

Core Responsibilities and Duties
Duties will include, but are not limited to :
 Accept, inspect and process cargo, including dangerous goods, on behalf of military and civilian customers for onward transportation by air using inter and intra-theatre airlift assets.
 Ensure any DG are stored in accordance with IATA, USAF and local procedures.
 Advise and assist customers in the completion of movement requests.
 Prepare and maintain an accurate record of all cargo stored and processed by FLS.
 Ensure consignments of Valuable and Attractive Items (V&A), DG, weapons and mail are properly secured and registered.
 Operate Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) whilst observing general safety instructions and relevant regulations.
 Supervise/assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles and aircraft pallets.
 Prepare all cargo for onward transportation, either loose, palletized or as rolling stock, by air on military or civilian aircraft.
 Co-ordinate support with national Support Elements (NSE’s) on national flights.
 Manifest and receive all FLS cargo using the NATO Effective Visibility Execution (EVE) system
 Participate in the management of Health and Safety.
 Proactively carry out any other associated duties (as allocated by FLS Management) to
promote FLS’s daily operations.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
The FLS Cargo Processor is responsible for preparing, inspecting and manifesting inbound and
outbound cargo including dangerous goods (DG) for transportation by military and civilian aircraft.

Essential (Min Requirements) :
 must be US citizens and hold a US Secret Security Clearance OR be a member of one of the Five Eyes (FVEY) countries and have a completed National Agency Check with written Inquiries (NACI).
 Proven record of air cargo operations including the use of specialist Air Cargo Handling Equipment (ACHE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
 Computer literate
 Be knowledgeable of, and have a background in, the requirements of the various types of aircraft and handling equipment used by the military and civil operators.
 Have knowledge of the current operating criteria of military/civil transport aircraft standard operating procedures and processes.
 Be familiar with NATO, ICAO, USAF and ISO terminology.
 Have a good administrative background.
 Have knowledge of airfield operations.
 Thorough understanding of transport aircraft types, capabilities and configurations.
 Trained to IATA DGR Cat 6 or equivalent.
 Fluent in English to a minimum level of 3333 in accordance with STANAG 6001.

Preferred :
 Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations
 Ex–military background at Corporal/Senior Aircraftsman level or civilian equivalent
