A friend of mine just did Houston Metro Dash - he's trying to get me into the whole WOD thing. Handstand pushups intimidate the living crap out of me. I should read through the CF thread, I suppose.

Run time is the first to go, because running when you are not being chased, sucks.

Never had to do the pullups which is a godsend since with my shoulder issues I can barely do 5 without pain. Therefore I did the 1985 Army PFT with the results below.

Pushups in 2 minutes, max out at 100 or so.
Situps, in 2 minutes, max out around 90 or so.

2 Mile run, 18.10 and just barely conscious at the end... OMFG I suck at the run!!

Army PFT:

65 push-ups
70 sit-ups
15:16 2mile run

Based on 17-21 age group, my score sits at 247. Using my age group(32), I stand at 265. As a Marine, the only reason I'm doing the Army test is b/c
I'm going to give SFAS a shot, if I can get the opportunity(I know I have a lot
more working out to do, good thing I can still ruck).

FYSA, a study was done on the correlation of APFT score in the 17-21 range to pass rates at SFAS. Thought you might find it handy. Data is from the somewhat old preparing for SFAS pam from USAJFKSWCS.

APFT Score Percent Passing Course

206-225: 31%
226-250: 42%
251-275: 57%
276 or higher: 78%

Ruckmarch was also analyzed for a 4 mile movement with a 45lbs. pack and associated LBE and gear.

Ruckmarch Time (Min) Percent Passing Course

54 and less: 81%
55-64: 63%
65-74: 34%
75-84: 10%

Good luck.

Wind sprints tomorrow.

Im doing sit-ups is there any evidence that crunches are better/safer?

Thanks,

I'm trying to get a better so in the spirit of this I'll post my recent PRT numbers.

6'5
252
16.5 neck
38 inch waist

47 pushups (2min) I know, I know, I'm working on them.
90 sit-ups (2min)
10:35 (1.5)

Most recent 5k was a week before the PRT and I finished that in 23:54.

I had a record PT yesterday so I'll throw up my scores.

71 PU's
78 SU's
15:31 2 Mile

Which gave me a 265 in the 21 year old male group. I need to work on my run...

Current Navy PFA Scoring 35-39 y/o male:

Push-Ups: 63 = 65 pts
Curl-ups: 63 = 80 pts
1 1/2 mile run in 09:11 = 100 pts

(65+80+100)/3 = 81.6 or 82 = Excellent/Medium

I wish the Navy would change to crunches instead of curl-ups. Better on your back, and of course I can do more of them. Always had a hard time with full sit-ups/curl-ups.
