I did a lot worse then I thought I was going to do. Pull ups - 21 Crunches - 62 (within two minutes0 1.5 mile - 14:58... So I know what I should be working on...Core strength and cardio work outs. Big time. Do you guys sprint the whole run? I was going about twice as fast as my usual jogging speed, and those were my results. I'm glad I did this though. Definitely put me in my spot and shows that I really need to step my game up. I haven't run at that speed in a long time. I met up with my dinner at the end of the run. That was a fun little surprise. ![]() |

I'm currently following this routine mixed with a few others that fellow members on here recommended.

Great link, by the way, Danno.
I ran a 14:03 last night. Still slower than most, but that's 55 seconds of my last time, so I'm happy about it. |

....I am weak.
AF PT test, highlights how meager my strength is. PU in 1 min: 50 SU in 1 min: 49 1.5 mile run: 9:48 Hit the gym with a buddy yesterday afternoon for cals and tire flips till muscle failure. Let's see what happens in 30 days.

I love this thread, no shame, just the facts. I will post one soon. The references to fuel and rubber hoses makes me feel safe I will be in good company in the garage.

So there's a bugeater specific test.
Chin ups, 2 min max PU, 4 min max SU (real sit-ups, not crunches like regular AF PT test), 2 mile run. It's an annual requirement for us. I've been working out, doing 100 PU program, and found a giant hole in my fitness. Pull/chin ups. Tested today: 7 chin ups 101 sit-ups 42 pushups 13:43 run Haven't been doing chin ups or pull ups. So that helped weaken my arms/shoulders. Then 85 was max sit-ups but I'm dumb and wanted to see if I could do 100+. Have only run 4-5 times since last month. Sub 14 is ok, but push and pull ups are apparently still wicked weak.

Had a horrible awful abysmal representing on the PST I did yesterday. I will say I'd been taking it easy for 8 days prior with some light PT and swims but no runs as my lower back was trying to kill the rest of me so:
Swim 500yd css in 11:13 Pushups in 2mins 84 Situps in 2mins 76 Pullups 12 1.5 mile run was 13:35 (started upchucking at about a mile and tried to keep going but speed went to a slow crawl during that time period and didn't get back up to a real run pace by the end) I'll try it again in 2 months or so.

"Officially Graded" APFT
78 Push-Ups
70 Sit-Ups 13:46 Run Need to work on getting my shoulder blades all the way to the mat on sit-ups, had quite a few not count. Apparently, this is common with former Marines, being used to crunches, and all. |

Swim dropped considerably, push and situps are both consistent. Pulls and run still suck (even worse this time). I'm going to be changing my workout methods methinks.
500 CSS 8:33 2min Push 80 2min Sit 80 Pull 10 1.5 mile run 15:16 (embarassing to say the least)

Are we talking "pull ups or chin ups", big difference in level of difficulty and are we fully extending our arms when in the hang position? I've seen some funny forms of pull/chin ups ranging from the swinging to the kicking form.

Full Pullups with overhand grip and extending the elbow joint. I did 12 but didn't count 2 personally because I didn't think I extended far enough.

Just did mine last drill
APFT 296 in my age group and 288 in the one that matters. 79 push ups 77 Sit ups 13:42 two mile run 11 pull ups (My unit requires 5 mile run, 12 mile ruck and pull ups as part of our PT test) This was the best PT test I've ever had in 7 years of service (6 Navy, 1 Army). I'm 32 years old so I think it's a pretty good test. |

That fact that both of you are banging out 20+ pullups is pretty impressive guys.

That comes from continuing to hit the weights, knees and ankles are wrecked, no more squats for me, and a continuing LARGE supply of supplements

Marine Corps Initial Strength Test
Pull ups: 20 Crunches: 107 1.5 mile run: 9 minutes 18 seconds Assuming I could run the same pace for 3 miles that puts me at a 296. |

Noted.
The IST is pass/fail. Figured I'd try to convert. I should have known better than to try to half-ass anything on here. =) |
