Just started Season One. Looks good so far. Like how the main character is former SF, with the tell tale Rolex. ; ) Interesting he made the comment how he re-enlisted after 9/11 to go back in, and states many other cops did also. Which is very true, right after 9/11 there was a rush of former 18 series re-enlisting in either AD or NG SF.

I agree with Murph though somewhat. I do long for the old days of TV where one show, was one show. Now it seems so many of the shows are just long mini series, with multiple seasons.

Well, you can always hit one of those channels like ME TV and catch up on Mannix, or The Rockford Files. I enjoy occasionally revisiting some of the old standards, when a 2 parter was about as extensive as they got when it came to adding layers and depth.

At the same time, you can really see the cookie cutter quality of a lot of those shows from the 60s and 70s. They all pretty much followed the same formula.

The original Hawaii Five-O, Rockford Files, and Quincy M.E. Now those were great shows back in the day, and my father's favorites. I remember as a kid sometimes, if mom was already asleep, Dad would let me watch them with him. Back several years ago I bought the first two seasons of Hawaii Five O on DVD. Every now and then I download a Rockford or Quincy episode.

Of course during the 80s, when in Jr/Sr HS, Magnum PI was one of my favorite shows.

Big fan of the Bosch series. Read all the books and think they've done a great job with the casting and portraying Bosch and others. I work in downtown LA and see places from the books frequently. Also my building was in the backdrop of a few scenes from the show.

Just started S1 - glad I don't have real plans today (finally a weekend off.)
Good start and I notice they have a couple of actors from the Wire (another show I recently started and finished 2 mos ago.)

Damn, I thought season three must be out because this popped to the top.

Read the books, too. Some of the stuff in the tv show will make more sense.

^Good deal! Guess I had better not making any plans for that weekend, as will be binge watching.

I was laid up this past weekend so I binged all three seasons and finished the last one last night. I really liked it, cant speak for the accuracy of the Police side but it seemed fairly realistic.

Sort of Spoiler below.

Third season did get a little squirley with the SF segment, his initial interaction with the SF guys before they were suspects was a little off. That and the whole scene taking out the guy on the island, why didnt he just disable the skiff and Sea Ray call the Coast Guard and Air Support.

Man I have ever binge watched this show. I watched all of Season 2 over a day and a half (Tuesday/Wednesday this week) and will finish Season 3 in the morning...unless I decide to stay awake another hour and finish it off.

What a ride, what a great show, great characters, writing, story, etc. This has been one of the best shows I've watched in a very, very long time.

April 13 is the release of Season 4, and Amazon has already ordered Season 5.

It was in one of the books (won't say which one). I think they've done a good job of blending the various book-based storylines.

Really enjoy the series. Binged season 4 the other day. Titus Welliver does a really good job.

I've read every single Bosch book, and loved them. It is rare that a TV series gets the "feel" of the books so right, but this one hits the nail on the head.

Just finished Season 4. The show is ridiculously addictive once I got into it.
