97 y/o WWII Marine Raider Passed

For those in the Westchester, NY or others close by.

WWII Marine Raider Bob Graham (Silver Star-Guadalcanal) passed recently. He has no living family members and one of the volunteers at his nursing home has taken to social media to seek out folks to attend his funeral in Westchester and burial in The Bronx. I'm sure SOCNET has people in the AO and despite the short notice, be able to attend. Info as follows:

His funeral will be held Friday, April 26, starting at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1377 East Main St. in Shrub Oak, N.Y.

I went and paid my respects today with my Father. We couldn’t stay for long but it looked like a truly special day. Hundreds of people in attendance.

I intend to stop by his burial site in the Woodlawn area of the Bronx.

RIP Raider

Thanks brother. You're a good man. One of the things that really hit me in the original story/link I posted reminded me of my own WWII veteran Grandfather and his kindness and grace. A man's Man.

“He brushed her hair every morning,” said Regan . “He’d held a mirror in front of her tell her every day how beautiful she was. When she was unable to hold utensils, every day Bob would feed her first before he ate himself.”
