Airstrike in response to cyber-attack

As I've always said, WWIII will be started in cyberspace.

The article is wrong. This is not the first time lethal targeting has been employed to deal with an actor that primarily operates in cyber space, not even close. It's been going on for years.

Quote:
A precedent has now been set for immediate military retaliation against cyber attack.
Nations aren't lawyers, precedent means jack and shit when the metal hits the meat.

I know what you are getting at, but I think I disagree (not sure I disagree, I just think I do). No one gives a shit about cyber space until an action conducted through cyber activities has an effect in the physical world. Cyber activities can be used to deliver incredible effects in the physical world, and, if done right, in a manner that is difficult to counter or defend against, with catastrophic results.

Or maybe I made all that up.

Thumbs up

Oh, I know . But this is a rare public disclosure on a military operation being mapped to it

There are some very public ones in the past that folks can draw line to. Stuxnet being one of them.

“Hamas no longer has cyber capabilities after our strike,”
Yes, you will never see any more hacking from Hamas That's some pretty simplistic propaganda - all it takes is a smart person, a computer, and network access...any where in the world. Hopefully he was just talking about *that* building.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On February 20, 2018, President Trump issued a memorandum instructing the Attorney General “to dedicate all available resources to… propose for notice and comment a rule banning all devices that turn legal weapons into machineguns.”

“I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida ... to go to court would have taken a long time”

“Take the guns first, go through due process second”

"Or, Mike, take the firearms first, and then go to court"

The author is a Brit that I have known personally for a few years. He has zero military experience so grain of salt and all that. I'm sure he thinks that's the first time it happened if it's the only one he knows about.
