Season 2 looked ok on the trailers too.

My fingers are crossed.

I've never watched season 2, after reading all the reviews here.

Shows like True Detective, Fargo, etc. can be hit or miss. Since they are anthology series that follow no true timeline, have no continuity between seasons and usually are populated by new characters every season, it's tough for them to hold an audience if one of the seasons sucks.

If they string a couple of bad seasons in a row together, and in the case of True Detective that would account for 2 out of the 3 seasons, then most people will simply write it off and won't ever tune in again.

Could be good, could be bad. You never know. They must have regrouped to try and come up with something that would capture the spirit of the first season. Or perhaps HBO held off on renewal for awhile, not sure if they wanted to try another season after the 2nd season basically flopped among viewers. It's been 3 years since season 2

I recently rewatched season 1 and really enjoyed it. I actually watched the segment after each episode in which the creators discussed the story and the inspiration behind it (The King in Yellow) which helped me get an understanding of the show.

If Season 3 is like Season , i'll watch it.

He's a good actor. Really liked him in House of Cards.

The setting looks rural/dreary again, so this could be everything S2 wasn't.

The trailer sure didn't make me want to watch it. Looked pretty damn boring actually.

Iíve watched the first two episodes of S3 and itís not bad. Itís following the same formula as S1. I noticed that Woody and McConaughey are producers.

There's a lot of veterans in Season 3, including a member if SOCNET in an extra role (not me).

This season is incredibly slow. We're four episodes in, and quite frankly, not much has happened. It looked like something was about to happen at the end of E4 and then "oh, wait until next week."
