Ozark - Netflix Instant

Rained all weekend and the wife and I blew through 10 episodes.

Really good show, along the lines of Breaking Bad but more family-oriented and doesn't have a yo-boy tagalong as a main character (not that Pinkman was a bad character, he was great, just trying to lay out the difference).

Bateman is really really good in it.

I agree - wanted to finish it last night, but could only get through episode 9 before I had to crash. Both Marty and Wendy are very quick thinkers. "We just bought a funeral home".
I had some major confusion with Episode 8, though. Couldn't tell if it was one long flashback, partial, time jumping, etc. I might just have to go back and watch again.

On the list. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are good actors so I am going to give this a watch.

Wow, thanks for pointing this out. I agree, Bateman is very good in it but the young blonde criminal, Ruth, is giving him a run for his money...pun intended:)

Good show...

ETA, the FBI character gives me the freaking creeps.

Yeah this was a solid show. I started this Monday and by Thursday I wrapped it up. Bateman was great and I like how this character actually seemed in control, whereas many of his roles have been more of the sarcastic, underachieving type. Yeah the actor playing Ruth was great too.

Esai Morales - man he has done a ton of acting on TV shows I don't watch so I thought he had retired. LOL.

I finished up this show last night. I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was the old redneck couple growing the poppy.

Yeah that one was unnecessary, esp given the finale.

She is evil. The old man does what is necessary to keep the business, she does what she does out of sick enjoyment.

Watched all 10 episodes Friday night and Saturday AM with my Dad (he found it on netflix, and called me over after the first episode). Outstanding. Reminded me of Justified a little, but maybe even more intense. Great storyline, well directed, and great job on the casting. Looking forward to season 2!

I saw it pop up this week on Netflix, and thought this thread was some feedback on S2.

I liked S1.

I started watching S2, and realized I need to refresh S1. I will binge watch/Skip through S1 next few days. S1 was really good and Justin Bateman has surprised me as of late in his acting.

Due to the long stretch between seasons, when I first started watching S2E1, I thought I'd have to go back and refresh myself but it's really not necessary because as you continue watching, all the pertinent shit will come back to you, trust me.

That aside, the new season is at least every bit as good as the first one, if not better. Enjoy...

Season 1 was good.
Season 2 was better.

I am looking forward to Season 3 and how the characters/story line develop. S2 upped the ante. You don't need to rewatch S1, as long as you remember the Ozarks bitch Darlene Snell (opium field owner with her husband) shot Marty's contact in the Mexican cartel, who happened to be the Cartel's top Lieutenant, square in the head in dramatic fashion.

That was a big deal and that is where S2 takes off. Not hard to follow.

Darlene is like a child. She does whatever the fudge she wants. She doesnt take the cartel seriously, or, she has more backing that we dont know about. I mean, they are running a rather large heroin operation.

She's a fucking hateful c***.

Just finished Season 2. It's still a slow series, but very enjoyable. Bateman plays his part extremely well...almost as if it was written just for him, (yes, I know he directed parts of it).
