I rarely do blends, outside the espresso. No need, good beans taste awesome, and wildly different.

I had 2 bean shipments held up, so I'm roasting tonight, instead of last night. Yours will ship tomorrow!

Question: What do you do for storage with a partial bag of whole bean coffee after it is opened? The wife thinks put it in the freezer. She is usually wrong so I'm playing the odds and guessing that aint the right answer.

Don't hate me: she's right. Freezing greatly retards spoilage. It's bad to pull it out every day to use it, so keep a weeks worth out, freeze the rest.

I remember reading somewhere that freezing the beans has the potential of allowing moisture into the beans - as well as other odors, etc that may also be co-located inside the freezer. So it is important that a truly airtight container is used for freezing.

I never freeze my coffee. Then again - it's usually not around long enough for me to have to worry about it !!

Freezing is a good thing. A ziplock bag is sufficient to block moisture and odor. Moisture issues come when people remove it daily and open the bag; warm moist air enters, creates condensation, then freezes. But freezing once, and leaving it frozen keeps it fresh many months longer.

If you want a mindfuck: frozen coffee grinds better/more evenly than room temp. It makes a difference, I've done it.
