When I went thru the Army's "Instructor Training Course," our presentations had to be about a non-military subject. I never quite got why that was, and several years later they lifted that particular constraint.

Seems to be very common at Instructor Development type classes. Had the same at LE courses I attended, the training block could not be LE related. There was one class however, taught by former FBI HRT members, where it could be firearm related.
