The Great God Pan

I have been wandering in the dark forest and swamp of reading- Lovecraft, and King, and other writer that are similar.

King calls this 'possibly the greatest horror story written in English'. That is very high praise from a master- and after reading it I do not disagree. My opinion has nowhere near the merit, of course.

Publish date is 1890. 'Timeless'.
