Thank you Swamppirate

I've had Balvenie and Glenmorangie. I find the Glen a little too fruity for my taste. My weekly goto is the Macallan 15.

Agreed.

I did go on their site and checked out the deal where you can purchase a barrel, they will customize the barrel with your company logo. Whatever that barrel yields (between 41 and 86 bottles, depending on the evaporation) they will then customize the bottles/labeling to also contain your company logo and you can pass them out as gifts to clients, family, etc.

They also ship you the customized barrel with the cases or booze.

I mainly drink the Islay malts...Laphroaig, Ardbeg, Lagavulin etc...more smoke, more peat. Another good and acceptable blend is the Compass Box series. Peatmonster and Flaming Heart is very good.

You ought to have a little taste a of WV. Moonshining is making a comeback. You can get straight corn hooch. But the fruit flavored brandies are the shit.

I will be at my favorite Irish bar (bar literally taken apart and flown back to here and rebuilt) tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day celebrating the Irish part of my DNA and will make a point to have a dram or two and try it out....

Ya gotta head to Costco if you like Larceny or Four Roses. They're selling the professional sized 1.75 bottles for $27.99!

If you haven't had Four Roses, it's the popular local bourbon, that the people who live in bourbon country drink.

Love Four Roses and it's one of my favorite bourbons but I only drink the Four Roses Small Batch.

Agree. I just bought my first bottle of Elijah Craig after reading the awards it won. I was not dissapointed. Relatively easy on the budget.

Blanton's for a splurge as well, haven't tried Buffalo Trace.....but the night is young!

Save your money on Blanton's and just grab Eagle Rare. Half the price and twice as good.

Went to a very nice Scotch tasting at the Highland Games in Pleasanton, CA and a vendor made this:

The Ingredients

45 ml Scotch Whiskey, 90 ml Tomato Juice, 15 ml Lemon Juice, 1 dash Tabasco Sauce, 2 dashes Worcestershire Sauce, 1 dash Salt, 1 dash Pepper, Celery Stalk

How To make a Bloody Scotsman

Add dashes of Worcestershire Sauce, Tabasco, salt and pepper into highball glass, then pour all ingredients into highball with ice cubes. Stir gently. Garnish with celery stalk.

Smokehead Scotch

Far better than a Bloody Mary.

I would have to buy some cheap scotch like Johnny Walker Red to try that. Would never waste a single malt mixing....

If you like single malts....try Caol Ila. You won't be disappointed.

My father told me long ago,

If it's good scotch ...

... don't mix it with anything.

If it's bad scotch...

... don't drink it.
