Lions of Rojava

So, these guys are recruiting AMCITS to fight with the Kurds against ISIS.

I got a buddy who is interested. Is this legit, or FBI honeypot to jam motherfuckers up when they show up at the airport?

It appears that they're recruiting ANYONE to fight ISIS on behalf of the Kurds.

Why? Because it gives Americas unbridled ability to slay the Hun?

IIRC, did not Americans join the French in WWI and Brits in WWII? And were there not AmCits that joined the Germans in WWII (of German descent)? At least the Kurds seem to have their shit together.

Not to mention that they are generally a very decent, hard working People (I know many). They are a true "Nation", thousands of years old, with a language and culture that is theirs alone, deserving of independence.
Unlike another bogus group that shall remain unnamed, but who can claim none of the above yet seems to get all of the worlds' undeserved attention, support, and funding.

Oh look, a thread about Kurds fighting ISIS that turned into something else.

Nope, just making a relevant aside. You however can do your damnest to turn it into something else......my comment was about the general decency of the Kurdish People, and the injustice of a world that ignores their cause.

BS hijacks aside, does anyone know the specific US law that would make fighting with the Kurds illegal?

This should answer any legal questions about anyone jocking up to fight with the Kurds. Many US citizens join the FFL with no repercussions. I wouldn't think this would be much different.

Illegal or not, I am glad that there are people willing to volunteer their lives and liberty to help out the Kurds for a change. If anyone deserves the support, it is them, IMO. Everyone knows that they need the help, regardless of where it comes from. Good on these individuals for doing what they feel is right.

Because he works at a college where he has to listen to people talk to him about "white privilege" all the time. I'd sign up to go get shot at with Kurds for free too.

Nice comparison between the Kurds and your buddies, BTW. Unfortunately, I don't think the comparison works in your favor, because if the Kurds deserve their own state, then so do your folks.

Actually M06, nothing could be farther from the truth, but the fact that you believe it to be true illustrates my point, thanks. No need to further derail the thread, so PM me if you have an interest in understanding why, and perhaps learning a little history to boot.

Why do I need "history" when I have "relevancy"?

MakoZeroSix, I believe it was Joseph Goebbels who said "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

Don't worry, you're not alone.

It's called the "Every American Citizen is considered a terrorist by the government, since 2001" law.

You realize that this is one big, fat, hanging softball...ready to be smacked out of the park, right? Don't worry, it applies to my government as well as yours
