Anyone else have to qualify with the grease gun, and use Korean war vintage ammo???
24 myself, and she was NOT ugly... and it was an XM21.... Old school is the only school to belong to.

Colonel Remo? Hmmm. Sounds like a guy that I knew named CPT Remo. Maybe he had just made Major. He was with SOUTHCOM, if I recall correctly.
Last I saw him was right before I left Puerto Rico 2001. We were having a spur of the moment formation for a guy who was retiring after 25 years. The big party for him was latter on. He was very well liked in the company. We were not all in uniform, typical Friday afternoon in SF. He was in front of the formation receiving his Award from the SGM. Remo came walking up behind the formation. He started commenting very loud about our rag bag appearance while this guy was saying his farewells. Complete disrespect. Pissed everyone off. I never knew him in his younger days, but those that did liked him, back then.

-Slant pocket jungle cammies, four pair issued by CIF

-The Lizard Lounge, AKA the Dragon Club

-Actually being told to "hurry the fuck up and get out of my aircraft," instead of being told to "slow down, one second interval"

-And the best of all...seeing "inmates" at Charlie Chickens Farm (AKA Correctional Custody Facility) doing police call all over post under the ever watchful eye of the Cadre in their shinney blue helmets!

I count 26. I never dated a stripper from rick's, but a dude in my company married one. I can't believe it only lasted a couple months.

Beyond old school:
1. The V-42 you were issued you carried on your pistol belt, not your flash.
2. Singlaub was a 2LT when you jumped with him.
3. Aaron Bank was the fitist dude in your unit.
4. The BTDTs on this site were not born yet, or still wore diapers.
5. You were the only dude on your team with English as a first language and their first language was not Spanish.
6. There were a couple of dudes on your team that still wore their SS insignia.
7. You did not realize the FSSF that you fought in Italy with was a crack outfit until 20 years later.
8. Jedi Knights did not excist yet, only Jedburgs.
9. Close to half the dudes in your unit were Candians.
10. The only dudes wearing Rifle Green Berets were british.

My OSS and FSSF friends are no longer here, but their stories are still in my memories. Sad deal, but the cycle never stops.

Went through the ancient archives, found one of the banana shorts:

Me and Don Philpot on the Z 1986, Don's wearing the banana shorts.
and

Me and Dad at the Church, 1985. Sgt Rafus was one MEAN cadence caller...

I bet everyone here placed a check by "Still looks good in UDTs" but if everyone lined up in 'em right now...the gross factor would be very high.

I have been on the receiving end of one of LTC Remo's uniform commentaries. Not the least bit funny.
