Over 90% of the action now is on McGregor, mostly smaller bets like yours, but the big money, which is also the smart money, is now coming in and laying off bets on Mayweather, a few of them in excess of $1 million.

A fight analyst in Vegas for the bout put forth the theory yesterday that if you're under 30 (roughly, it's an unproven theory) more than likely you think McGregor is going to clobber Mayweather, early and often.

And if you're like me and a lot of other people who grew up with boxing, let's say around 40 but perhaps a little older than that, you know that a bout governed by the rules of boxing set forth by whatever boxing authority is sanctioning the fight will always favor the man who who has fought by those rules his whole career. As for the people in that 30-40 age range, it's probably a tossup..

Sure, McGregor has a pretty strong punch, but he is still going to have to hit Mayweather, who is arguably one of the best in history at avoiding punches, or at least moving in a way that turns them into little more than a glancing blow.

Still, anything could happen. In the end, McGregor has what I will call a fighter's chance, meaning when he starts throwing punches there is a possibility that he's going to sneak a few through, and if he sneaks enough of them through Mayweather could find himself in more trouble than he thinks.

More than likely Mayweather is going to duck and weave, work McGregor's body and give the people who paid good money to watch their money's worth. But most boxing experts think he could end the bout at anytime simply through his experience and superior boxing skill.
No worries, with the odds and that sized bet, not much to be won with Mayweather winning. I equate this bet more like playing the lottery and will not be really surprised if it is lost.

Floyd may be fighting a mixed martial artist, an inexperienced boxer or whatever you want to call him.

But he is also an Irishman. I can see Connor channeling his inner Micky Ward and getting the job done through sheer will/spirit.

The Irish have taken over Vegas.

Exactly what I said - he is Irish! No training or experience in the world can prepare you for the Irish onslaught. LOL.

Dang, that's hard to argue with

However, I was referring to the Irish spirit in combat sports.

Current heavyweight boxing champion: Tyson Fury (Irish)
Current king of the UFC: Connor McGreggor (Irish)
Soon to be king of the world: CM and his big hairy Irish balls

It won't be me, in a couple minutes the wife and I are headed down to one of the casino's to place the first bet on sports I've ever placed, and to watch the fight. Head says Mayweather, heart says McGregor.......betting the heart.
