RFI: Remote Medical International Advanced EMT

Does anyone have experience or otherwise have reasonably reliable information about AEMT jobs with Remote Medical International? They are currently asking for PSS AEMT's

I searched on these forums and didn't discover anything.

Thanks

CL

If they are recruiting true PSS Medics under DoS then it would be as a subcontractor to a prime, and may even be a notional (not yet awarded) opportunity.

Otherwise they may carry some direct contracts for deployed medics on other programs.

Can you provide a link/screenshot of exactly what you are looking at?

Vendors on WPS/WPSII are not permitted to sub-contract "P" positions. If RMI is looking for WPS/WPSII PSS AEMT's it may be as a staffing/recruiting agent for one of the prime vendors.

Here's the link to the RMI AEMT posting:
https://www.appone.com/MainInfoReq.a...nal.appone.com

I'm still very much figuring everything out as far as how contractors are hired, etc, etc. OS and O_Pos thank you for the responses so far.

That posting is for a non-DoS non-WPPS/WPS job. They are using "PSS" to pull people in to the posting.

Also keep in mind to yourself that the position is listed as unarmed.

It reads like they are just building a candidate list as the posting is very generic. I would contact them directly and ask if they have actual awarded work and what the location is.

Also, your profile says you are EMT-B. Has that changed for you (NR-AEMT is an additional level of cert)?

Thanks for the information about your take on the position. I'm looking to complete my AEMT by May/June-ish via JTM Training group in Las Vegas.

Guessing you are doing their AEMT online? I won't go into my personal opinion of online initial EMS education, especially at advanced levels... as I've probably bored everyone here with my previous soapboxes.

But that aside, Jim runs an overall excellent operation at JTM and his tactical medicine courses are well respected.

I've been told that a lot of their postings are basically to gather CVs for future projects and bids. I've noticed that a lot of the postings don't specify a pending award or other such nomenclature.

Just to speculate: if it's a 'PSS'-type position, but unarmed, it might be that they are competing with Global Rescue for the medic jobs in Ukraine as those fit the description.

Yes, I am doing the hybrid AEMT Course. I share your opinion of not being a big fan of online training for initial training/certification. For a newcomer to EMS, I feel in-person instruction is best.

I was also a Corpsman for 5 years and had a lot of training and experience when it came to TCCC, PHTLS (which i am currently certified) and all the other skills that come with being stationed with my Marines ( like stitching up their heads when they play catch with rocks in Iraq... love them guys!! )

I definitely am excited to see you have a high opinion of JTM.
