I would hone these up and use but I would ruin the patina.

I have two similar but much longer blades. Both Massai. More expensive, but real, not the tourist shit.

These came from a retired SF Warrant Officer. He picked them up in Ethiopia in the early 60s.

Seems like dogs go two ways with those guys, one and done or they never get enough. I have a friend with a jagdterrier that is on his 9th one. Two hundred bucks a pop to have the vet put him to sleep and pull all the quills.

Speaking of dogs I saw that this group of hounds caught it's first rhino poacher today! http://wildlifecollege.org.za/press-...nter-poaching/

I would think a good Mountain Man could train a group of bear dogs to hunt/tree/kill most anything...

True, and I've done my fair share of running after dogs through the Blue Ridge--but, that ole bear always has the option of whooping those dog's asses and walking off.

I usually find out mine got bit when he comes back from the creek and it looks like he has a softball in his mouth. He has been popped 3 times, figure he would learn his lesson.

Came across a lost free runner when we section hiking the AT, circa late 70s. She crawled into the tent for a nap. Dad had to drag that bitch out, scruff of the neck and what ever he got hold of on her ass end... she was most likely a Plott, brindled good looking dog.

Next day, a man on a horse asked if we’d seen any dogs. I don’t remember the rest of the conversation.

Glad to hear your pup is doing well. I took one fang from a CH trying to keep my dog form going after it.

And last night the dogs ran the Opossum up a tree, I was sleeping and the wife didn't wake me. This morning I let them out and they must have caught it on the ground and it played dead. Bad move for the Opossum cause there was an ax handle on the porch - Opossum problem solved. Dogs are pissed that I didn't leve it for them to play with all day.

It's not enough dodging deer on my road. Now I'm getting attacked by air.

OWL - 0
Nissan Frontier - 1

Flew into my headlight last night late. I just dropped him off at a vet where he/she will go to an Avian center for care then re-released. Only has an injured wing.

I had a couple of owls making a lot of racket at the house a few nights back. I love listening to them.

A few decades ago I was driving down the highway one night and an owl flew into the radio antenna on my truck. The antenna literally skewered the owl. Shitty luck for the owl. Figure the odds....LOL

Owls are badass...I have several species behind my house, including a set of barn owls.
