Narcos set off binge reading latenight of books about Escobar, drug pilots and Carlos Lehder. I've burned thru most of a hundred dollar Amazon gift card doing this.

The question burning in the back of my head... how many SOCnet dwellers were involved in catching Escobar?

Besides Killing Pablo and Blow, what other good books are there about that era?

Just blew my morning and afternoon watching all of the Season 1 episodes after my cable went out in a storm yesterday. With today being easter, my cable won't be back until tomorrow.

Awesome series.

My opinion is one of the best books out there about the early drug war (roughly ep.1 through ep4 of the Narco series) is "The Kings of Cocaine".

I am enjoying it so far, just as I enjoyed the first season... and I'm trying to not let the little things distract me... but in the beginning of episode two, when the new ambassador was walking into the US embassy and the Marine embassy guard bowed while giving the worst salute I'd seen in ages, I actually spit out my drink.

Don't get me wrong... the show is great... but Jeez.. that salute.

Sorry, it's a true story. I figured everyone knew (especially on this site).

Mods, please delete that post. It won't let me do it, or I would.

Plus he's about 60 years and and still a Lance Corporal? Talk about Terminal Lance.

I started watching when this came out and stopped around S1 E5. Picked it up this weekend and began S2 today.

I haven't read the history on Pablo but you have to be shitting me about him building his own prison and arming it with his own guards, coupled with the agreement that no police or army can come within 3 miles.

Bomb the shit out of this murdering asshole while he is inside and take control of the country. WTF?

Cool show though.

Great point and he never suffers for work it seems. I like him.

As hard as it is to believe, it's true.

I wasn't there, but I know who put that bullet in Pablo's ear from across the street and who made his momma cry.

Nope. I'll never tell, but it wasn't a Colombian.

Not the sequel... the first one
I saw the sequel today and thought it was great, so now I need to track down Elite Squad.
