The Punisher (Netflix)

Fair action and ok plot. Subplot? Douche baggers supreme! Obviously, no service member was consulted on anything but action! And, per template, the left blames the NRA for the woes of the world. Looking forward to the foreshadowed mass murder by a psychotic vet influenced by an NRA guy (who turns out to be a stolen valor turd) the NRA being the party whose members have NEVER been affiliated with any public madness. Not the best effort by the fruit and nut crowd.

Excellent series. We binged the whole series this weekend. I was concerned they would treat it like Iron Fist but glad that didn't happen.

Good escapist entertainment. I'll watch season two.

Great choice for Castle. Micro is very different than comics. Cool to see their setup and vehicle like in the comics...*//end comic nerd string

So far I'd give it 4/5 stars.

The NRA angle of the poser character was stale and clichéd. I always assumed from the first scenes in that group that he was going to end up being a poser and given the way he was always stirring the pot in those meetings. I didn't mind the part of exposing a big mouth as a fraud, but that caricature part was stupid. But then again an ex-NSA guy being more of a HUMINT kind of analyst was dumb too.

I guess I don't understand much about modern hardware, I thought supressed MP-5s were kind of a thing falling to the wayside. But as xFrogTx said it's kind of obvious their technical advisers were only there for gun play aspect.

I'd love to also see something in this genre that doesn't put the contracting world in such a typical dark light either.

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire season-long sub plot of vets predictably being nothing but either evil 'contracting' murders.....or just stupid broken insane crazies who are one argument away from snapping and going on a murder spree.

I was/am a HUGE Punisher fan from way back. Hell, I still have some of the old comic books back in the day. I still even remember the first Punisher comic I read ---- Frank Castle just minding his own business at the grocery store when thieves try to rob the store. Castle mows them all down and even manages to fill a cart up with Bleach and Ammonia from the cleaning aisle and gasses a dude when he shoots the cart. My 11 year old brain quickly learned what Mustard Gas was at that moment.

Either way, I enjoyed it, but wish they stuck closer to the source material. I'm tired of lefties shitting up every god damn thing they get their hands on.

Pretty darn good show if you just want to be entertained.
Best Punisher yet, one of the better Marvel depictions of a comic book imo.
Some plot holes, some areas where time can be confusing, but i'll binge season two when its out.

Not a comic book/Marvel-DC fan. Never thought I'd watch this show but saw the recommendation and gave it a go. I'm on E4 and I will finish for sure. Jon Barenthal is awesome in this role. Not to a point where the SJW stuff is playing out but it's hard to make these kinds of shows in a vacuum. I'm a fan of vigilante stories and I'm told the director (or maybe the producer) is from the show Dexter, another likable vigilante.

(1) Just loved seeing the scuba/jump wing combo with the expert rifle and pistol badge. Something about that give me a woody.

(2) Just can't see a Lt. being that badass from the Company.

(3) Punisher just spazzes a little too much

(4) Not enough killing

(5) Brother who turns on a brother deserves a shit load of torture.
(a) Death is too good for a buddy fucker
(b) There's so many ways to keep a fucker alive but make them a helpless vegetable.

(6) Love the retribution

(7) "...If you're gonna look at yourself...gotta admit who you really are..." What a great line. I make my living off compassion but, deep down, I & everyone, understand RETRIBUTION.
