I think the avoidance of the American flag is more for foreign distribution reasons than some leftist agenda. China is the biggest example where a certain amount of deference needs be paid before a movie is put into production.

"First Man" is a pass for me as well. Planting the flag was a significant event, and should have been included.

Agreed, if they want to omit one of this Nation's crowning moments in world history, then I'll omit my cash for the price of a ticket. Pass...

Having said that; I guess you (not expecting you to) have never heard of the Avro Arrow, Avro aviation company and the result of that..

Long story short, Canada was the third largest aircraft and parts manufacture in the world in the 50's. Avro developed a fighter interceptor way ahead of it's time. As well as a commercial jet way ahead of it's time, lunar rover, and other spacey and way advance stuff.

US and Brits wouldn't buy it due to nationalism. Program was killed.. some say from pressure from US DoD, lot's of controversy. Killed thousands of jobs and the company had to shut down.

The resulting layoffs led to the majority of the engineers going from Canada to NASA and US aircraft manufactures.

36 of these engineers ended up being many of the lead managers in the space program, including Apollo program, lunar module, etc, etc.. Huge impact on the space program. The engineers who went to aircraft companies used the Avro program inspire the F-14, F-15 , and the F-111 I believe, those types of swept wings dart jets..

Just a little tidbit of history

That's cool, but I was really just speaking tongue in cheek, moreso than a factual history lesson,

Be kind of like Clint Eastwood making Flags of our Fathers, but ommiting the Flag. Sigh....

PC has gone too far. I miss the 1990s.

Interesting dynamic here. So - the far-left leaning, capitalist slugs in Hollywierd are modifying their movies to appease a Communist state audience, to tap into that massive viewer market.

Fuck China and Hollywood.

I will pass on this film, also.

Not to sound like a broken record; the last movie I saw in the theater was Wonder Woman. Haven't seen a movie since then compelling enough to make me spend the money. Even the Marvel Avengers movies seem to have run their course.

Many new blockbuster movies are being produced by the H. Brothers, a Chinese firm. It's only a matter of time, we'll be seeing Anti-American/ capitalism, Pro socialism themes even more than now.

As I have said many times before here, the really good movies these days are coming out of Norway, South Korea, France and other overseas venues.

Yeah...I like a lot of the new international indie films coming out. I just gotta learn to read faster so I can keep up with the action and plot lines.
