Workout Round Counter

So, I'm not really sure what to call what I am looking for. I need a non-electronic way to keep track of rounds/sets of a workout. In my mind I visualize something that works like old school Ranger beads where I can just walk over and slide a bead or something to one side to correspond with completing a set or round. If anyone knows of anything like this, I would prefer to buy instead of making my own. Thanks.

The obvious question - why not just buy a set of Ranger beads?

As soon as I read non-electric, I thought pace chord as well. I gotta ask, though. Why non-electric?

The non-electric need is b/c it will be for workouts in full Firefighter PPE, sometimes breathing air, always with heavy gloves on. With obscured vision, and limited dexterity with possibly wet and dirty gloves, an electronic timer is not feasible. The more I think about it, Ranger beads may work fine.

Curiosity got the best of me and I started searching the internet for a rep counter. (Plus it is half time of OSU/UM)

Google provided these links:

RepCord
THE REPCORD - a simple bracelet of silicone beads you slide to easily keep accurate track of the reps or rounds without interrupting the flow of the workout..

https://repcord.com/

I cannot believe how popular this bracelet is.

How many miles of 550 cord how we cut, abused and thrown away along with beads, nuts etc.. We could be rich..

And

Those are cool, pretty much like RBs, don't think they would work for me. I ordered some RBs off Amazon and will give them a try but if anyone has any other ideas, I am all ears. Something like a chess timer with an oversized button that you just have to hit to activate a counter would be cool.

I write all my workouts out on a whiteboard with date, movements, time to complete and to count rounds use the old tally mark method with dry erase marker.

We used these tally counters to keep track of our trees when I logged.

Chalk on the ground?

If you're in full turnout/bunker gear, you might find it hard to actually hold the tally counter, much less work the small clicker on it.

Hell, if you're beside a Big Red Truck, use a whiteboard marker on the side of the truck.

KISS...

What Wowzers suggests is solid, based on my needs. Thanks, though.

Soooooo you’re looking for an abacus. They’ve only been around for about 3000 years, you’re welcome

A simple dry erase board probably does the job as well as anything Ive ever seen. put the workout on the board, and either mark, or erase when you have completed a set.
