Truth. When I called the Doc and told him that my leg was purple heading to black he told me to move around as little as possible and dial 911 for an ambulance ride to the hospital and he would see me there. That was much more dramatic of an option than I can stomach so I got in the truck and drove myself to the ER. 13 hours later I was seen after I finally gave up waiting behind every fucking illegal alien in Florida with a sniffle in the ER, despite me telling them half a dozen times that I had a blood clot in my leg. So, I walked up to the nurses desk and dropped my pants so they could see my leg. A few minutes later I was in ICU.
Lesson learned: If I had followed instructions and took the ambulance ride I would have been seen immediately.
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.
