I wonder what a few drops of CLP would do - that would be a pretty manly option for taming a wild beard...

Finish with weapons maintenance, rub the gun oil residue into your beard - it sounds like a win-win scenario to me.

Tried that because I thought it would give off that gun oil smell.... didn't work so well. Eight Benadryl and a shower later.... just went back to using beard oil... the only thing that keeps the front of my shirt from looking like I spilled some kind of white powder on it.

I’ll quote what one of our esteemed colleagues once said with regards to beards...”Why cultivate on your face that which readily grows on your ass?” Or something to that effect.

LOL. That was me, quoting one of my Uncles, but guess I am violating the principle, as sporting large goatee now.

Use the same thing. Exactly the same thing. Rub it in and leave it there. Works pretty well.

I've tried a couple different ones.

Blue Iguana is a boutique brand based out of Jacksonville, Fl. that I really liked.

I also like https://www.beardcommander.com/ . Great stuff and is owned/operated by a Navy Vet. Scott is as good as they come.

I guess I gotta side with the gun oil, bacon grease, or in my case a dab of whatever cooking oil I got laying about kinda crowd. (I gotta admit that using gun oil is pretty fucking hardcore).

However, I can't help but ask you tea oil/beard butter creatures....After you give yourself that 'special' beard treatment--and you're getting your manicure/pedicure monthly treatment, do you talk to the Chinese lady sawing on your toenails?

I love the Tee Tree oil stuff. When in a pinch I will use some “in shower body lotion” it helps with the dry skin and flaking. I think Nivia makes a tee tree oil lotion.

Remember that dandruff is not about hair - it's a SKIN condition. You can also cultivate yeast and fungus under your manly growth. The other thing to remember is that your skin is resistant to Selsun (selenium sulfide) from the moment you use it, so forget the Head/Shoulders scam.

There are several good articles (and assoc products) under "beard dandruff" on your google machine, find one you can deal with. Mine is naturally the texture of a porcupine hide, but I can live with it - no oil or grease is gonna change that. But treating the skin under your hair is the name of the game.

Legit question here. I use the small bottles of concentrated tea tree oil for flea dip baths on my dogs. I'm not fucking with you here. I heard a Dr to use the same thing on a elementary school girls hair for lice.

That shit is a little loud smelling in the concentrated oil. I guess its diluted a helluva lot in your beard stuff. Unless you have a liking to the smell of kerosene.

Just got some of the Tea Tree stuff you recommended. Liking it so far, using on my beard and scalp. Also on my elbows that get really dry and start cracking this time of year. Smells good. Thanks for recommendation.

I’ve used Brooklyn Grooming products since I was in Basrah in 2013/2014. Excellent stuff, even in 140F heat. No longer have a beard, so I use their shaving and face tonic line.
