You should all have a new favorite baseball team

Go Blue Jays... Hopefully they learnt some leadership and team building skills and didn't try to emulate any bad haircuts or other gayness

That's bad-ass.

I'll now root for the Blue Jays to take 2nd place in the AL East, right behind my Yankees...

First, why is the Regiment helping Canadians? They just going to pretend that the French and Indian War didn't happen?

Second, then-COL Freakley's shreaks and screams on the radio...I mean...steely requests for somebody, anybody to come and save him...well, that was priceless...but you had to be on SATCOM in RC-East in 2006 to hear it.

Actually they went to the SEAL's first but it took the Blue Jay cleaning staff a full week to get the Drakkar Noir and hair gel smell out of their locker room. Rangers stink...nobody loves us and our ever-sporty hairstyle.

Drakkar Noir?? Is your experience with SEALs from when there were new episodes of Miami Vice on every week and Boy George was a thing?

I prefer the Pittsburg Pirates since they worked with SF...I'm biased though.

"Performance psychology coach"?

All I can think of was the Kathleen Madigan skit where she makes fun of "Crocodile" who got paid to verbally support Mike Tyson: "you're number 1", "You da man!!".

Growing field...some examples of it in the 70's, more and more in the 80's and on with Olympic athletes. Professional teams started bringing on full-time specialists and the Mil has been doing it in the SOF realm since mid-2000's. West Point is one of the first examples of use in the Mil from what I've heard. Army Center for Enhanced Performance (ACEP) which include several disciplines, Performance Psych being one of them was the model at West Point. SOF took aspects of ACEP along with best practices in sport/business world. The SOF program is called Special Operations Cognitive and Enhanced Performance (SOCEP) and is gaining notoriety in the field. I have interacted with several POCs in the professional sports world and it is common for me to be asked if I have any experience with SOCEP.

The Performance Psych is not always a Ph.D. level Psych, one may see the title Sport Psych, Performance Consultant, Mental Skills Coach, along with couple other titles. Many of the "coaches" are Grad level choosing to specialize in the field work versus research. I believe about 80-90% of folks in this field gravitate towards the field work. I think it is within the last 10 years that a credentialing mechanism for Sport/Performance Psych (consultant, coach, Jedi, Guru) has been developed and recognized to strengthen the field in areas such as accountability and credibility.

Like I said, growing field and one that I credit to raising my bar shortly after I began involvement with the SOF program when I was AD. That was around 2006 and I've used the tools outside of my Mil responsibilities with the simple goal of maximizing performance in other facets of life.

New terminology; but yes, NC State had them in the late 80’s when I arrived...

I think this is a different guy. I saw this brought up on FB and several have said that this guy was the Performance Psych for the 75th, not the eventual GO Freakley.
