San Francisco Pulls out of JTTF

San Francisco has decided to pull out of the JTTF and cut information ties with the FBI.

Information is the key to successful law enforcement and limiting the flow of information seems to be a petulant action predicated upon the fear of the unknown.

This could have devastating consequences for the denizens of San Francisco and may have an impact outside of the city itself.

Dollar to a donut that the're planning on starting their own international counter-terroism task force intelligence unit

Wait, wasn't that in a small PA community? Wonder how that worked out for them?

SF leadership is full-on delusional. They're completely broke, yet believe they have the flexibility to do anything they want.

Those chickens WILL come home to roost, and then the locals will find to their horror that they're not chickens... they've morphed into the great, dreaded Foo Bird, who will shit copiously over everything in their domain.

I wouldn't get too much into a twist about this... Mostly anyone still in SF or most of Cali for that matter will be reaping just what they've sown. Just a matter of time.

San Francisco is safe because terrorism is illegal in California.

True, and because of their uber strict gun laws, the terrorists don't have a chance.

We have BTDT board members here who work in that domain. Might want to wait and hear their thoughts before this turns into another predictable thread about California and liberalism.

It's a silly symbolic move. The DOJ/FBI will maintain the JTTF. The JTTF doesn't just cover SF but likely the whole Bay Area. SF is not the only town there.

Other federal/state/local agencies will likely remain involved. SF gets to say they quit but the entity will continue on without them, in SF, whether the like it or not.

I mean, one cannot argue with that logic.

I respect that they have the courage to stand by their convictions. I think it's a completely stupid move that endangers the community, but I'm glad they aren't being two-faced about it.

Just like the teenager that runs away from home because he's mad at his parents, this is sure to teach the FBI a lesson.

From a JTTF member and not a big FBI fan I still think it's a dumb move. I recommended a new JTTF logo but it never got any traction, "Tell us what you know and we will tell you what you need to know". Meaning funnel us all your intel.

It's only funny because it's true.

Yep...in both of those agencies...it's all about "relationships".

California is a socialist hellhole. No surprise there.
But we are now going full retard with cities and LE agencies making these "announcements" about things like this or immigration non enforcement. What I have been speaking about is this move of basically Balkanizing LE agencies along political ideologies.
I can tell you that if say San Francisco wanted investigative help from the valley here, it would be let's say very slowly provided. Agencies that do this shit can't have it both ways. Salinas PD is out of control with shootings and homicides. So they decided to fix it. Declared themselves a sanctuary city. I'm sure that will solve the problems.
My overarching point is that LE nationally is going to have to take a stand against this socialist agenda and the use of LE to further it. If not, eventually it will be LE agency vs LE agency.....and not just in refusal to help or rhetoric. You'll see an agency try and prosecute another based upon party lines.
My two cents

That was my experience on the JTTF-Savannah. Although there were some damn good field agents in the local FBI, the guy's that ran the Georgia JTTF were dickheads to the nth degree.

My experience with the G-8 summit at Sea Isle sealed the deal. Our locals had been planning and doing reconnaissance for this meeting for over a year before the Washington/Atlanta Feds got involved. Once they showed up, all our work was a waste of time.

All the JTTF, here, turned out to be was a bullet point on the SAiC's resume.

We used to call them "one way" when they asked us to do something urgent but would provide absolutely none of the critical information we needed to plan/train/execute the mission.
