What are you listening to right now?

I just heard this song on Sirius this morning; then I looked it up on YouTube. It's the best song/video I've seen/heard in quite some time, with perhaps the exception of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I don't know how I'd experience new music if it weren't for satellite radio- regular radio is so homogeneous and boring now it's astounding.

I listen to mostly heavy metal.

Lots of The Black Dahlia Murder, Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, etc.

Listener beware, lots of double bass and screaming. Alot of people bitch and moan about not being able to able to hear what they're saying. For you're viewing pleasure, I've included lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7Vip7fSDgw

Impermanence is always swift
Treasures of this world are fleeting
Our eyes blinded from the gift
Within the way there lies the meaning

All natures are pure
All appearances are empty

Shrouded in sensation and delusion
Consumed within unknowns
Shrouded in sensation and delusion
All will collapse and fall

All wisdom is treasured
All wealth is a shadow

Inexpressible in words
Embrace the stillness
Endless source, Eternal bliss

Absence of the mind is liberation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUdyrK1iw6E

Chopping lines in international sand
Feeding blood junkie habits of the elephant man
Quench his thirst with Black Water rising
Executive outcomes on a burning horizon

Yeah motherfucker, let's take a ride
We're rolling route Irish, someone has got to die
Trick or treat, it's IEDs
So roll the dice as we leave
cause it's near 8 miles of pure luck
with more bang for Sam's buck
Guaran-fucking-teed, someone will bleed

Privatize to conceal all the lies
big business is booming like its the 4th of July
No need for all the formalities
Jump the kangaroo courts
and plant the lynching trees

Yeah motherfucker, let's take a ride
Running red lights in a green zone,
someone has got to die
Hidden Aegis, nothing here to see
So load the dice for me please
and Let's snort the bottom line
Crude cashed into refined
Guaran-fucking-teed, Just sign the deed
Someone will bleed

Someone has got to die

Ours is not to reason why
Ours is but to do if the pay rate's right
Black liquid assets fuck the mujaheddin
Paint their picket fences red with the American dream
Lay the hammer hammer down, get the job done right
Jacked up and clocked in into a fire fight
Covert reactions and you never saw me
A glass parking lot in the American dream
they all die

If it's too loud, you're too old.

I cannot stand the radio. My technique is to find an underground band that I like, then I go to Barnes and Noble or some other place and search the band. Off to the side are areas that say "People who bought this album also bought these." That is how I find my music that doesn't get played on conventional radio.

Tool all the way!...Seriously it does not get any better than that for me at least. In addition of course Pink Floyd, hence the reason why I choose my avatar

However, on a softer side of things, City and Colour aka Dallas Green is one of my top artist. Along with Eddie Vedder (Lead singer for Pearl Jam.) Eddie has blown me away when he made the soundtrack for Into the Wild.

Regrettably, I'm posting from a hotel lobby where Terry Jacks is singing Seasons in the Sun on the radio. I still can't get the flipside of that particular vinyl 45 (Put the Bone In ("...'cause my dog, he's been hit by a car....") out of my head, which is far and away the worst part of that song. Even after all these years, Terry Jacks still gives me flashbacks!

I do like them somewhat because, well, as a finn i have an obligation to like them. But they aren't very original. Still, they're all excellent musicians and the songs are quite listenable.

Currently, the theme song to Mickey Mouse clubhouse.

The garage gym has been ringing with Monster Magnet lateley though.
Anyone else love Pandora? (Not a band, a music app for your phone) I haven't discovered new music with it yet, but it's great for getting a mix of music you already know you like.

I use Pandora.com when I'm surfing the net all the time. Gives me a break from the listening to the CDs I own.
