ME Deployment

I am operating under the guidance that we don't link articles to a certain publisher? Otherwise I would provide it, but those who want to search it out - it's in the component of that newspaper we bought in PX/BX back in the day.
I saw this, and pulled a quote:

A contingent of soldiers from the 75th Ranger Regiment is deploying to the Middle East as part of the buildup of forces in the region, a military official confirmed on background.

We used to move without fanfare and just do the deed. I fear this will endanger the lads, similar to ST-6 being spotlighted with OBL's demise. The bad guys are going to shift their PIR.

Yes, but sometimes our movements are used as a form of psychological warfare. Folks involved in the train-up for Restore/Uphold Democracy, when the entire aviation task force was parked as close to the fence along 98 as possible and ended up on the front page of the local paper might understand what I mean.

It’s to Kuwait, so not a real deployment.

Because there weren’t any Regimental elements in theater already.

IIRC Stormin' Norman kept two Divisions of Marines afloat off the coast for Desert Shield/Storm and that kept Iraq defenses in place in the East while the "left hook" was unleashed out West.

Yes - do something with the right hand as a distraction so they don't see what the left hand is doing. Could be the case here as well.

Yes. The article mentioned here, as well as several other media sources, all clearly state that the 75th element ďjoined the 82nd who landed in Kuwait.Ē

The 75th is pretty good about keeping lips sealed. Since specific media know where they are, and the size of the element, this indicates it was released by someone who had the authority and approval to do so. Itís not like Ranger privates are out calling the news while loading on the aircraft.

You might want to check which subforum you're posting in. No one who has the creds in this one has questions about how that works.
