A score of 251. A morethanusual sorry showing on the situps. Not knocking out 80+ is frustrating.

Anyway, ran this one in 100F -- seeking to place blame for any poor showing on the heat. Some might consider the resultant mild bout of heat stroke to be a flaw in my planning, but I think that is the case only if you think negatively....
17 pullups
68 situps
22 min 55 sec 3 mile run.

Well, fuck me. Yeah, a little better on the run -- but a fucking falloffthecliff drop in performance on the pull-ups and situps. I don't know what happened, but I suspect that the pull-ups were lost when I mounted the bar -- From the first one, I thought I wasn't going to make the 20 -- I think I convinced myself it wasn't going to happen.

Damnit. 231 -- Motherfuckme....

58 Pushups
66 Situps
15:20 2mile run

259 in my age group (37-41)
230 in 17-21 age group.

Lame, but still a 50 point improvement, so I am going to try and maintain my improve rate.

Thanks to Military Athlete and Rob's training because I took this after my recruiters gave me a one week heads up.

APFT: 75 pushups, 76 situps, 12:30 Two Mile

I'm working on re-enlisting after a period of broken service and the Army recruiters administered this test to submit an 18x age waiver. I'm not sure if it's going to work but the CoC is sending me for the physical and security screenings at MEPS before they make a decision.

Work PFT
1.5 mi 11:45
Hand release pushups (continuous) 50
Situps (continuous) 80
Pullups (deadhang) 14
O-Course 6:34

Our test doesn't allow resting. All movement must be continuous. Maxed pushups and situps. Back injury contributed to a slower than normal O-Course time.

FACT

USAF Fighter Aircrew Conditioning Test

This one is based on weightlifting, using Cybex machine or similar device. It's not the hardest fitness test in existence, but as far as job-specific ones go, it's at least had some thought put into it. While designed for high-G aircrew, I can see it having some relevance for maintenance guys as well, given that a lot of their job tasks can include having to manhandle items with weight in some fairly awkward positions for extended periods.

Each repetition in the first phase is executed smoothly in a six-second count, 10 of each exercise to pass, 15 of each to max. Add total reps for phase subtotal score.

Those exercises (pushups, abdominal crunches, and leg presses at 100% body weight) in the second phase are done to form, both as quickly as possible within a 60-second time limit, with a min-max range of (20-50), (30-50) and (20-50) respectively. Total reps added for phase subtotal.

Subtotals of both phases added for final score.

Weight required for each exercise is based upon a set percentage of the subject's body weight, rounded to nearest five-pound increment. No age or gender norming, the scoring system is the same for everyone.

The test is intended to measure the ability to perform (1) anti-G straining manoeuvres over extended periods of time, and (2) the ability to move ones limbs in a smooth, coordinated manner under increased loads. How effectively either of these objectives is measured is still being debated in the aerospace physiology world.

===========================

Phase I (I weigh 184 pounds, so weights are based on that):

Seated arm curl (35% x BW): 65#, 15 reps
Bench press (80% x BW): 145#, 15 reps
Lat Pulls (70% x BW): 130#, 15 reps
Leg Press (160% x BW): 295#, 15 reps
Leg Curls (50% x BW): 90#, 15 reps

Phase I subtotal: 75 points

Phase II:
Pushups (20-50): 50 (with 12 seconds to spare!)
Ab Crunches (30-50): 50 (40 seconds!)
Leg Presses (20-50): 50 (just made it --- I've had a knee dislocated that still clicks now and then)

Phase II subtotal: 150 points

TOTAL SCORE: 225

Fitness Categories:
211+ Outstanding
185-210 Excellent
120-184 Average
0-119 Unsatisfactory

FACT Addendum

A couple of FTUs have informally adopted an unofficial Phase III for this test, as an "extra credit" thing. Consists of the following, each done at own pace, to failure (no time limit), one extra point per rep. Their students were still required to meet or exceed the minima for each individual exercise to be a pass (i.e.: no getting away with 9 or less on one and making up the points elsewhere):
Leg Press (160% x BW)
Leg Curls (50% x BW)
Apparently too many gym rat and/or ex-ground-forces types were maxing this thing.

The AGSM still has to be learnt separately, BTW.
