Never had the honor of meeting COL Howard that I recall, but did meet John Plaster years ago while at a range and he was the guest of honor for a shoot. He spoke about how at the time SFC Howard was the bravest man he ever met and gave several examples from his Vietnam heroism. A speech I will not forget. RIP Warrior.
