Just noticed this thread, thought that I'd join in on the fun.

12/14/09

Repeated x5
Isolateral incline press: 70 lbs (each arm) - 8-10 reps
Dips with 35 lb plate attached: 10 - 15

Repeated x5
Dumbbell press with 70lbs (trying to work on stabilizer muscles) 10 reps
pullups: max (was doing about 10 per set)

2 mile run, untimed but I'm guessing in the 15 minute range or so

1000 yard swim with every 100 yards 20 pushups, 40 crunchies

Take care and be safe,
Scott

From your posts, I wonder if you are giving your calf the time off it needs -- of course you know better than the readers as to how bad you hurt it, but recovery can often take longer -- with less successful results, if we push an injury too far, too soon. You're in the Navy (from your profile), so I'm sure you have access to docs telling you if the above comment is out of line.

As to the running in boots -- why? Just curious....

More for fun than anything. My ultimate goal is BUDS. I have done quite a lot of running in boots and it does not really seem any different than running in shoes to me. As for the calf, I was sick with a sinus infection that worked its way into my lungs which kept me from working out for almost three weeks. Then about a week later my calf started acting up. I've given my calf about a week with no impact on it, been stretching and icing it. I got really sick and tired of lazing around so I started running again. The running actually feels like it is doing more to bring it back to speed than anything.

I just picked up "Convict Conditioning" bodweight training. I am about halfway through reading it. It is a good read and might help you out when you don't have access to weights.

Rain, hail, and lightning last night -- so I sub'd this for the CF WOD: 300 pushups/25 min, 32 sec.

I hurt my shoulder over a year ago -- which really isn't justification for being a wuss today, but my goal is to get back to the point of knocking out 500 in less than an hour....
