Permissions?

I've been getting "I don't have permission" on about 1 out of 4 of the entries I've made the last few weeks...?

When I click on the new auction thread I get a:

VBulletin Message:
1. User acct. may not have sufficient privileges.
2. If trying to post, the Admin may have disabled acct.

Also, when trying to post, it's been kicking me back to where I have to click 'log-on'. This happens about 20-25% of the time.

I'm getting an Announcement at the top of my "new posts" page from B 2/75. Clicking on it results in a no permissions error.

I'm not an admin, but here's some things to check on that I've run into in the past with SOCNET and similar VB sites.:

1 - If cookies are not enabled on your browser, SOCNET may require you to repeatedly log in, since it does not recognize you as a member currently logged onto the site. Enable cookies, and enable persistant cookies, in your browsers.

2 - Make sure your system date/time is current on the real time clock for your computer. Some validity checks will fail if your computer tells a requesting site that it is APRIL 6, 2016 when today's date is really APRIL 6, 2015 (unless you have a time machine); or if your computer reports that today's date is APRIL 6, 2000 when it is really APRIL 6, 2015 (you have been on line for 15 years?).

3 - Add WWW.SOCNET.COM to your "white list" of web sites (also known as "trusted sites"). This will cause your computer to ignore what it would normally consider security errors (like links within posts, links within quotes, or too short messages).

Oh, and stop downloading all that porn.

You can read B 2/75's announcement? Must be an Army thing. Works for me.

Yeah, I couldn't access that one either, but it was just that one thread, havn't had any other problems.

I thought maybe they were auctioning off who was going to get to ban me.

If I click on the announcement at the top of the forum, I got a "No permissions" notice.

If I clicked on the individual auction post (5thSF "V" patch), I got in fine.

Once I got in to the Post Exchange, I was able to click on the announcement post with no issues.

1 - Where I 'clear history' there is a box for disallowing cookies and it stays unchecked.

2 - Clock on the computer jives with the timepiece at top of page.

Advice on porn; Two out of three ain't bad.

It's my computer dying??

I can't log-in normally now. An thread up-date announcement popped up in the E-mail and it included a link to SOCnet, I click on it and I am logged in and in the thread that popped up.

I have added that link to 'bookmarks' and it is actually fewer clicks to get to where I want to go.

Life is back under some control, thanks.

I've deleted the announcement from the banner it was on.

Hopefully that will fix some of the issues ya'll've had...
