Thank you to ACE for reopening at my request.

I just wanted to update that as of the 18th of May, it is being reported that this program is being scrapped.

OOC, out

I may be wrong (probably am) but I seem to a few Marine Recon/Force Recon types going thru BUD/S in the 80's and 90's. Frog can probably answer this best

^^Some guys went through the dive phase. Pretty rare though. I only knew a couple. One was an officer, and a bit of a dipshit. Showed up for a dive wearing a blue and gold with a trident on it. The other guy did an exchange program type gig between 2nd Force and NSWG 2 in the 80s

I've heard of the training together for years ... When I first heard though it was such an anomaly I had to check other sources because I couldn't believe it !LLTB Semper P

How did these two perform over their 5 years? Did they go back to the Coast Guard or did they opt to stay? Thank you,

The Coast Guard has lots of prior Navy, weird seeing the reverse.

Off topic: USCG lends well to getting captains license. I'm certain that fact plays into transition from Navy.

I met of the LT's at Manas in Kyrgyzstan on the way into Afghanistan back in 2013. Started to chat him up out of curiosity and dude takes one look at my nametape and he's like, "You're Mark's brother...?"
Turns out that the two were in the same BUD/S class, granted my brother didn't make it through.
Small world, man.
